1972 Week 7 AFC Game of the Week - Chiefs 13 @ Chargers 20
| The Chiefs came to San Diego with a win on their mind after destroying the hapless Eagles 48-10 in Week 6. Late in the 4th with the score tied 13-13 Len Dawson looked for Ed Podolak in the flat. Joe Beauchamp made the interception and ran it back 93 yards for the go ahead touchdown with 1:22 left in the game. Dawson then metriculated the ball down the field and had the Chiefs at the Chargers 9 with 0:01 left on the clock. Dawson backed to pass Joe Beauchamp made the sack and saved the game for the Chargers. |
